2016 Social Work Gala and Silent Auction
The Wayne State University School of Social Work and Social Work Alumni Association Board are proud to co-host the second-annual School of Social Work Gala & Silent Auction themed "an Innovative Harvest for Change". Saturday, October 8, 2016; 6 to 10 pm (doors open at 5:30 pm) Student Center Ballroom - 2nd floor 5221 Gullen Mall Detroit, MI 48202 3 Ticket Types: $62 General admission, $36 For students, and $36 for student sponsored tickets. If a guest is unable to attend the gala but would like a student to attend they can purchase as student sponsored ticket for $35 and we will locate a student to utilize the sponsored ticket and attend the event. The RSVP Ticket Purchase System closes Monday, October 3, 2016. Tickets for the event cannot be purchased after this date. Complimentary parking is available in Parking Structure 2 (5150 Lodge Service Drive, Detroit MI). There will also be complimentary golf cart rides from structure 2 to the Student Center from 4:30 - 7:00 pm and 9:00 - 10:30 pm. Parking: Parking with an attendant is included in the ticket price at Parking Structure 2 (5150 Lodge Service Drive, Detroit, MI). There will also be complimentary golf cart rides from Structure 2 to the Student Center from 4:30 - 7:00 pm and 9:00 - 10:30 pm.
Description: The WSU School of Social Work and Social Work Alumni Association Board are proud to co-host the second-annual School of Social Work Gala & Silent Auction themed "An Innovative Harvest for Change". This event is being held in lieu of the previous annual Social Work "Dinner with the Dean" and "Alumni Association Award Luncheon". The Gala provides social work students, WSU alumni/faculty and community members an opportunity to connect, network, and unwind. Updates regarding progress in the School of Social Work over the past year will be provided by Dean Cheryl Waites and a silent auction will be conducted at this event with proceeds supporting the WSU School of Social Work Alumni Association’s service to the community and expansion of school initiatives such as the Social Work Student Book Voucher Scholarship. At this event we will also honor our social work citizen/alumnus/agency of the year and as an added bonus our legacy social workers will also be recognized for their outstanding service within the field over the years.

Each table seats 8 guests and there is not a full table purchase discount. The RSVP Ticket Purchase System closes Monday, October 3, 2016. Tickets for the event cannot be purchased after this date.
Dinner: Ticket includes plated dinner; no alcohol will be served. All meals will be served with a salad, rolls and appetizers. Dessert will be pound cake. Beverages will include water, lemonade and coffee. Dinner menu options:
• Grilled Chicken with roasted red skins & asparagus • Braised short ribs with poblano polenta cake & sautéed spinach • Roasted vegetable parmesan quiche • Tofu stir-fry with vegetables (gluten free and vegetarian)
