Quick Overview

We are pleased to announce that the 5th workshop for the Engine Combustion Network will be held in Detroit at Wayne State University shortly before the SAE 2017 World Congress. The goal of the ECN is to promote the development of predictive engine combustion modeling for the design of more fuel-efficient, low-emission engines. The ECN provides highly leveraged, vetted datasets for spray and engine combustion model development by utilizing contributions from many experimental and modeling participants at pre-selected operating conditions appropriate to engines. Workshops are held to coordinate this research. Organizers gather experimental and modeling results prior to the workshop to allow a side-by-side comparison and expert review of the current state of the art for diagnostics and engine modeling, and to identify needed future directions.

  • 8 a.m. – 5:30 p.m., Friday, March 31

  • 9 a.m. – 4:30 p.m., Saturday, April 1

Marvin I. Danto Engineering Development Center
50550 Anthony Wayne Drive
Detroit, MI 48202

Conference registration also includes an opening night banquet at the Michigan Science Center

I will attend the 31 March banquet beginning at 6 pm, with full access to the Michigan Science Center  and a pizza and bowling activity as the "final session."

Registration is $200 on or before Feb. 7, 2017, and $225 after Feb. 7.
