Quick Overview

To celebrate the start of the holiday season, the Anthony Wayne Society is pleased to host its traditional Thanksgiving Day Parade gathering on Thursday, November 24, 2016. We are excited to continue the tradition that started in 2013 as Wayne State hosts The Parade Company on campus as the starting location for the parade. The start will be at Kirby Street and Woodward Avenue. America’s Thanksgiving Parade®, presented by Art Van, one of the country’s oldest and most celebrated parades, will step off at 8:50 a.m. and end at Woodward Avenue and Congress in downtown Detroit.

Our event will be held at the WSU Welcome Center at Warren and Woodward Avenue. Parking Structure 6 and the doors of Wayne State’s Welcome Center will open at 7:00 a.m. with a Fall-themed continental breakfast served from 7:30 to 10:30 a.m. Reserved grandstand seating on Woodward and Warren Avenues will give you a view of your favorite floats, balloons and marching bands in the parade.
